The Western Environmental Law Center is delighted to congratulate board member Cliff Villa on his appointment as a senior advisor to the Environmental Protection Agency Office of Land and Emergency Management. Professor Villa has built a career fighting for environmental justice, and will bring this expertise and advocacy to his new role advising EPA. The appointment means he will step down from our board, at least for the duration of this special appointment.

“In his time on our board of directors, Cliff has offered us an incredible breadth of knowledge and resources, and has led us in prioritizing environmental justice throughout our work. He eagerly offers wise guidance gleaned from his broad experience to help board and staff alike,” said Erik Schlenker-Goodrich, executive director. “We are lucky to have shared this time with Cliff, and we are excited to see him advocate for climate and environmental justice in Washington.”
