Protecting Colorado’s Uncompahgre Region from Fracking and Coal Mining

In Western Colorado’s Uncompahgre region, sometimes called the North Fork Valley, organic farms flourish like nowhere else in the state. But the Bureau of Land Management has presented a draft management plan for the area that would concentrate fracking, coal mining, and more drilling for oil and gas in this mountain oasis. In BLM’s draft plan, every possible course of action would result in increased climate pollutant emissions over today’s levels.

We need to reduce our climate pollution, and this draft plan takes us backward. We’re pushing BLM through administrative engagement, and prepared to defend local communities and the climate if necessary.
