Eso no ha sucedido aqu\u00ed y, como resultado, la comisi\u00f3n ha puesto en riesgo nuestras aguas y comunidades.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLos habitantes de Nuevo M\u00e9xico conf\u00edan en que la comisi\u00f3n basar\u00e1 sus decisiones, sin interferencias, en la experiencia t\u00e9cnica y la ciencia independiente de las agencias estatales\u201d.<b> dijo Dale Doremus, Cap\u00edtulo R\u00edo Grande del Sierra Club<\/b>Es sumamente decepcionante ver que la mayor\u00eda de los comisionados abandonan esa iniciativa y permiten la toma de decisiones pol\u00edticamente motivada en una normativa tan crucial que deber\u00eda priorizar la protecci\u00f3n de nuestras preciadas y escasas aguas subterr\u00e1neas y superficiales de contaminantes t\u00f3xicos que pueden poner en peligro la salud humana y el medio ambiente.<\/p>\n<p>En mayo, la Comisi\u00f3n adopt\u00f3 la prohibici\u00f3n de todo vertido de agua producida con base en una propuesta del NMED, respaldada por el testimonio experto de cient\u00edficos del personal del NMED. Sin embargo, la administraci\u00f3n del NMED no autoriza a estos mismos cient\u00edficos a participar en la nueva normativa que permitir\u00eda el vertido. En los 58 a\u00f1os de historia de la comisi\u00f3n, nunca se ha elaborado una normativa que el NMED vaya a implementar en la que el personal del NMED no haya participado.
