La administraci\u00f3n Trump pretende revertir una retirada administrativa de minerales que dur\u00f3 20 a\u00f1os para intensificar la ofensiva petrolera y gas\u00edfera en esta zona de importancia cultural e hist\u00f3rica. La regi\u00f3n m\u00e1s extensa del &quot;Gran Chaco&quot; ya cuenta con m\u00e1s de 911 TP3T arrendadas para la extracci\u00f3n de petr\u00f3leo y gas.<\/p>\n<p>La legislaci\u00f3n es una medida necesaria para garantizar el alivio de la zona y sus comunidades, donde es com\u00fan ver antorchas de metano y maquinaria pesada alrededor del parque. Esperamos trabajar con la delegaci\u00f3n y todas las partes interesadas para proteger el paisaje del Gran Chaco y considerar medidas para proteger no solo el parque, sino tambi\u00e9n a las comunidades que viven en la regi\u00f3n y que ya sufren los impactos adversos de las actividades de petr\u00f3leo y gas.<\/p>\n<p>Los recursos culturales del Chaco se extienden mucho m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de los l\u00edmites del parque y la zona de amortiguamiento propuesta. Las comunidades locales sufren intensamente los impactos continuos de la extracci\u00f3n de petr\u00f3leo y gas, con mala calidad del aire, tr\u00e1fico pesado de camiones y graves efectos nocivos para la salud. Por ello, esta legislaci\u00f3n es un elemento positivo de lo que debe convertirse en una conversaci\u00f3n m\u00e1s amplia que reconozca la responsabilidad del gobierno federal de abordar el legado de explotaci\u00f3n en el Gran Chaco, en beneficio de sus comunidades nativas vivas, as\u00ed como de los irremplazables recursos culturales que hacen de la zona el coraz\u00f3n del suroeste. Esta conversaci\u00f3n brindar\u00eda la oportunidad no solo de abordar los da\u00f1os causados por los combustibles f\u00f3siles, sino tambi\u00e9n de apoyar una transici\u00f3n justa hacia una econom\u00eda m\u00e1s sana y sostenible.<\/p>\n<p>Agradecemos a la delegaci\u00f3n su estrecha colaboraci\u00f3n con la Naci\u00f3n Navajo y el Consejo de Gobernadores de Todos los Pueblos en este asunto. A medida que contin\u00faa su labor, animamos a la delegaci\u00f3n y a todas las partes interesadas a que tambi\u00e9n reconozcan y participen en debates sobre el futuro del paisaje del Gran Chaco directamente con los l\u00edderes ind\u00edgenas locales y las comunidades de los tres cap\u00edtulos (Ojo Encino, Counselor y Torre\u00f3n) y la Zona de Gesti\u00f3n de la Agencia Navajo Oriental, cuya perspectiva pr\u00e1ctica es esencial para garantizar acciones bien fundamentadas e informadas.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cReconocemos los esfuerzos de la delegaci\u00f3n del Congreso de Nuevo M\u00e9xico como un paso adelante en las pr\u00e1cticas de gesti\u00f3n del paisaje que protegen lugares culturalmente significativos\u201d, dijo <b>Julia Bernal, directora ejecutiva de Pueblo Action Alliance<\/b>El Paisaje del Gran Chaco ha sufrido un legado de da\u00f1os perpetuado por la extracci\u00f3n de petr\u00f3leo y gas, y la administraci\u00f3n actual pretende intensificar esta explotaci\u00f3n. Por lo tanto, la codificaci\u00f3n de la zona de protecci\u00f3n de 16 kil\u00f3metros es un paso necesario para impulsar protecciones m\u00e1s s\u00f3lidas en el futuro. Seguiremos abogando por salvaguardas para proteger a nuestras comunidades de nuevas amenazas a nuestra salud y afinidad cultural con el Ca\u00f1\u00f3n del Chaco, la remediaci\u00f3n y limpieza de la infraestructura hist\u00f3rica de petr\u00f3leo y gas, y la implementaci\u00f3n de principios de justicia ambiental para futuras pr\u00e1cticas de gesti\u00f3n territorial que prioricen las voces de las comunidades m\u00e1s vulnerables.<\/p>\n<p>La Naci\u00f3n Navajo, la Oficina de Administraci\u00f3n de Tierras y la Oficina de Asuntos Ind\u00edgenas han devastado la salud y la situaci\u00f3n econ\u00f3mica de la regi\u00f3n oriental durante la \u00faltima d\u00e9cada, y proteger la zona de amortiguamiento de 10 millas es la mejor opci\u00f3n que tenemos ahora para proteger nuestros lugares sagrados, nuestra salud y nuestros valiosos sistemas h\u00eddricos. Ya hemos visto esta presi\u00f3n para obtener arrendamientos, prometiendo millones de d\u00f3lares, pero veamos nuestra comunidad. Sin hospitales, sin fuerzas del orden, sin recursos humanos. \u00bfQu\u00e9 beneficio econ\u00f3mico tenemos como comunidades de primera l\u00ednea? \u00bfQu\u00e9 plan existe para que nuestras comunidades de primera l\u00ednea tengan agua, aire y suelo limpios durante la pr\u00f3xima d\u00e9cada? Seguiremos impulsando la protecci\u00f3n de las comunidades en zonas de intensa sobreexplotaci\u00f3n como el Gran Chaco para que todos podamos disfrutar de un futuro saludable y habitable en el que nuestros l\u00edderes prioricen la justicia ambiental.<\/p>\n<p>Durante m\u00e1s de una d\u00e9cada, WildEarth Guardians ha apoyado a las comunidades que luchan para poner fin a la profanaci\u00f3n del paisaje del Gran Chaco. Esta zona de amortiguamiento de 16 kil\u00f3metros es el m\u00ednimo indispensable: un cortafuegos contra una mayor destrucci\u00f3n en una regi\u00f3n ya invadida por la explotaci\u00f3n de combustibles f\u00f3siles. M\u00e1s del 91% del Gran Chaco se sacrifica al petr\u00f3leo y el gas, y ahora los aliados de Trump quieren el resto. <b>Rebecca Sobel, directora de campa\u00f1a de WildEarth Guardians<\/b>Debemos codificar estas protecciones y afrontar el legado t\u00f3xico de la industria con acciones contundentes, una limpieza real y una transici\u00f3n justa para las comunidades Din\u00e9 obligadas a vivir con las consecuencias del fracking.<\/p>\n<p>Durante a\u00f1os, defensores y miembros de las comunidades afectadas han exigido a las agencias federales que protejan la integridad cultural del paisaje del Gran Chaco y el bienestar comunitario del fracking.
