Los proyectos de ley tambi\u00e9n est\u00e1n asignados a los Comit\u00e9s de Finanzas y Judiciales del Senado antes de pasar a la C\u00e1mara de Representantes y luego proceder a una votaci\u00f3n en el pleno.<\/p>\n<p>Tras las reducciones de las protecciones federales para el agua limpia en los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os, hasta el 95% de las aguas de Nuevo M\u00e9xico han perdido la protecci\u00f3n que les otorgaba la Ley de Agua Limpia. Debido a estas reducciones y a la falta de un sistema estatal de permisos de calidad del agua, American Rivers nombr\u00f3 <b><i>todos<\/i><\/b> Los r\u00edos de Nuevo M\u00e9xico encabezan su lista de los <a href=\"https:\/\/nmpoliticalreport.com\/2024\/04\/17\/american-rivers-ranks-waters-in-new-mexico-as-the-most-endangered-in-the-country\/\">Los r\u00edos m\u00e1s amenazados del pa\u00eds<\/a> En su <a href=\"https:\/\/mostendangeredrivers.org\/\">Informe sobre los r\u00edos m\u00e1s amenazados de 2024<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Los proyectos de ley que se aprobaron hoy en el comit\u00e9 garantizar\u00edan que las protecciones federales para el agua limpia que han existido en Nuevo M\u00e9xico durante d\u00e9cadas se mantengan a nivel estatal. Adem\u00e1s, otorgar\u00e1n autoridad al estado para asumir la tarea de otorgar permisos del gobierno federal para las aguas que a\u00fan est\u00e1n protegidas a nivel federal, agilizando el proceso y poniendo la supervisi\u00f3n en manos de los habitantes de Nuevo M\u00e9xico.<\/p>\n<p>El l\u00edder de la mayor\u00eda del Senado, Peter Wirth, y la representante Kristina Ortez patrocinaron <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nmlegis.gov\/Legislation\/Legislation?chamber=S&amp;legType=B&amp;legNo=22&amp;year=25\">Ley SB 22<\/a>\u2014un proyecto de ley para establecer un sistema de permisos a nivel estatal para aguas que ya no est\u00e1n protegidas a nivel federal bajo la Ley de Agua Limpia\u2014y <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nmlegis.gov\/Legislation\/Legislation?chamber=S&amp;legType=B&amp;legNo=21&amp;year=25\">Ley SB 21<\/a>\u2014un proyecto de ley para asumir la autoridad de permisos estatales para aguas actualmente administradas por la Agencia de Protecci\u00f3n Ambiental de Estados Unidos\u2014 para establecer la autoridad necesaria para construir un programa integral de permisos estatales.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLas aguas de Nuevo M\u00e9xico han perdido protecciones cr\u00edticas en los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os, lo que amenaza nuestra agua potable, la salud de nuestras comunidades y el futuro de industrias clave como la agricultura y la recreaci\u00f3n al aire libre\u201d, dijo <b>Rachel Conn, subdirectora de Amigos Bravos<\/b>\u201cNos complace ver el avance de la SB 21 y la SB 22 que restablecer\u00edan d\u00e9cadas de protecciones anteriores y establecer\u00edan un sistema para garantizar que los humedales y las v\u00edas fluviales que necesitamos para nuestra forma de vida no se contaminen\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNuestras comunidades terrestres dependen del agua limpia de nuestros arroyos, cabeceras de r\u00edos y humedales para regar nuestros campos y cuidar de nuestro ganado\u201d, dijo <b>Paula Garc\u00eda, directora ejecutiva de la Asociaci\u00f3n de Acequias de Nuevo M\u00e9xico<\/b>\u201cUn sistema de permisos a nivel estatal ayudar\u00e1 a proteger nuestras acequias y granjas para el futuro\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEstos proyectos de ley formar\u00e1n un programa completo de permisos para aguas superficiales en el estado de Nuevo M\u00e9xico. Estas protecciones son fundamentales para garantizar que nuestro recurso m\u00e1s preciado est\u00e9 protegido para las generaciones futuras\u201d, afirm\u00f3 <b>Tricia Snyder, directora del Programa de R\u00edos y Aguas de New Mexico Wild.<\/b> \u201cEstamos agradecidos de que este importante esfuerzo est\u00e9 avanzando en la legislatura\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNuevo M\u00e9xico debe ahora tomar medidas urgentes. La legislatura debe adoptar medidas y programas de protecci\u00f3n para proteger nuestras v\u00edas fluviales de la contaminaci\u00f3n\u201d, dijo <b>Jared Berenice Estrada con El Proyecto Semilla<\/b>\u201cEstas v\u00edas fluviales exigen nuestra protecci\u00f3n inmediata por el bien de las generaciones futuras\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDado que gran parte de las cuencas hidrogr\u00e1ficas de Mimbres y Gila est\u00e1n en riesgo debido a la p\u00e9rdida de las recientes protecciones de agua limpia, se necesita un programa de permisos estatales para proteger nuestras aguas de la contaminaci\u00f3n\u201d, dijo <b>Allyson Siwik, directora ejecutiva del Proyecto de Informaci\u00f3n sobre Recursos de Gila<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLos recursos m\u00e1s preciados de Nuevo M\u00e9xico son nuestros arroyos, lagos y humedales.
