Protecting Amphibian Critical Habitat in the Sierra Nevada<\/h1>\n

High elevation meadows and streams in the Sierra Nevada Mountains provide important habitat for the Yosemite toad and Sierra Nevada mountain yellow-legged frog, both of which are threatened with extinction. When cattle groups sued the government for protecting 1.8 million acres of critical habitat, WELC successfully defended the decision. This critical habitat for the threatened amphibians remains cattle-free.<\/p>\n
