WELC Acknowledges Stolen Lands

The Western Environmental Law Center acknowledges that the lands we live and work on across the western United States were stolen from the original peoples who lived here. We respectfully honor the Tribes and original peoples who have long stewarded these lands. We recognize their enduring and continuing relationships to the land: past, present, and future. We are dedicated to learning more about historical waves of occupation and dispossession of western lands and resources, increasing our and others’ awareness, and taking action in solidarity. We encourage others to also learn more, ask questions, and make meaningful change.

Here is a resource to help identify the lands we are on and we encourage others to do their own research to learn more about the land they inhabit: https://native-land.ca/
